I got many email's asking me how I build my watchlist & what my daily routine looks like. So, Im writing this blog to dive more into this topic.
Daily Routine:
- Evening
- Review watchlist (about 100-150 names) and build the next day’s focus list consisting of 2-5 stocks.
- Add entry, stop and target levels for each stocks on the focus list
- Morning
- Check futures
- Note the pre-market price of Focus list stocks
- Note the pre-market price of existing positions
- Have a bias on what the market could do
- Take trades from focus list if they trigger right after the open ( act aggressively if the market acts according to my bias)
- Intra-day
- Monitor the market & focus list .
- Monitor existing positions & Adjust stops if needed
- Take profits on existing positions if target is hit
- Take trades from focus list if they trigger intra-day
- Close
- Monitor existing positions & focus list during the last hour of the day
- Adjust stops & take profits on existing positions if profit target is hit
- Monitor each sector & the major indices noting down the strongest sector / index
As you can see , my routine is a bit simple but you need to put in the consistent effort each & every day.

Keep in mind that the best trader in the world could share his or her watchlist with you, and you still could lose money trading the exact same stocks. It all comes down to execution. You will win half the battle if you master the art of knowing which stocks to trade.
Your trading plan is just as important as the stocks you choose to trade. Having a plan will allow you to be calm and confident once the market opens. There is no trade if there is no Plan
